NOTE: This guide is only applicable to validators and those using a Ledger device via FantomScan and MyEtherWallet.
Fantom Wallet will now take care of the swap between ERC20, BEP2 and Opera FTM tokens.
Read here how to use the wallet!
How to use the Fantom Bridge
To send your FTM to the Fantom wallet, you’ll have to swap them to the native Opera token using the Fantom Bridge under https://bnbridge.exchange/
You can swap from ERC-20 (Ethereum), BEP-2 (Binance Chain), and XAR (XAR Network) to Opera and back.
How to swap FTM with the Fantom Bridge
Step 1: Select Fantom (FTM) from the token list.
Step 2: Under swap direction, select the token origin.
- If your FTM tokens are on Binance, you can choose either Binance or Ethereum. Binance lets you choose to withdraw either ERC20 or BEP2 FTM.
- If your tokens are on any other exchange or on an Ethereum address, you must choose Ethereum as the origin of the swap.
- If your tokens on Xar Network, you must choose XAR as the origin of the swap.
Step 3: Select Opera as the destination of the swap.
Step 4: Input your Opera wallet address in the “Opera Receive Address” field. The bridge will display the current balance of that address on the destination chain. If you just created it, it will show 0 FTM. Our guide on how to create a wallet can be found here
Step 5: Click on next.
Important: if you get an error at this stage, it might be a BEP2 issue. Try selecting Ethereum instead and it will work fine. Just make sure to withdraw ERC20 from Binance and not BEP2.
Step 6: The bridge generates an address to send your tokens to. Do not click on Next yet but leave this window open.
Step 7: Go to the exchange, MyEtherWallet, or your wallet of choice and withdraw your tokens.
How to withdraw FTM from Binance
Using Binance as an example, here’s how the process will look:
Step 1: On the withdrawal page, select the network, input the address generated by the bridge, enter the amount and click submit.
Step 2: Confirm the withdrawal by email.
Step 3: Authorize the withdrawal by clicking the link you received in the email.
Step 4: Check the status of the withdrawal in your Binance account, under Deposit and Withdrawal history. It can take a few minutes for the transaction to appear on the blockchain.
Step 5: Once the status shows “Completed”, go back to the Bridge and click on Next.
Step 6: The bridge will inform you that a swap request is pending and will give you additional information. The process is very fast.
Step 7: Verify that you have received your tokens in your wallet.
